Stop smoking while you smoke-no chemicals

Today, the world is going smokeless. Each day, more and more cities in the United States are going smoke free. Even here in Kentucky, which has about the largest percentage of smokers in the country, our major cities have implemented smoking bans for all areas of commerce and government offices. I started smoking in my teens and continued until I turned 29 with my third pregnancy. I quit for 14 years. Then my husband was in a bad tractor trailer accident and it caused me to commute between Lexington and Louisville sometimes twice a day to see him in the hospital. Yep, while driving all those miles, I started smoking again. The stress of the accident didn't help any. So now it has been 10 years that I have been smoking off and on (more on than not). My husband has never smoked and two of my three children are non-smokers. I have to adjust to them and to keep the smell out of my car and home. In August of this year, I was at a large trade show in Las Vegas looking for new products. I had pretty much covered the floor and was heading outside for a smoke when I came across a booth where all of the vendors in the booth were just puffing away on cigarettes. I thought to myself, "I know that they can't be allowed to smoke in the convention center. What is going on here?" So I stepped up to the booth and asked them that question. What they presented to me was and "Electronic Cigarette". It consists of a two piece item that looks just like a filtered cigarette. The filter portion contains nicotine and unscrews from the white portion of the cigarette. This white portion is actually a rechargable lithium battery. When they are screwed together and you inhale, the end of the cigarette glows and air and water vapor are drawn into the filter portion. There is no heat generated. You inhale the nicotine along with water vapor and you exhale only the vapor, which looks just like smoke. There are none of the toxins that you get from regular cigarettes. You are exhaling only the water vapor. There is no smell or chemicals to stain your walls or clothing. No second hand smoke to expose your family and friends to. All you are getting is the nicotine. It is like wearing a patch, but you get the satisfaction of smoking! These electronic cigarettes can even be used in places where smoking is not allowed because you are not putting any chemicals or toxins into the air. I was impressed, but I wasn't ready to stop my smoking yet. Then last week, I came down with bronchitus. I stopped smoking cold turkey until my lungs recovered, but I was still craving...so I have started smoking my electronic cigarette. The filters containing the nicotine are good for the equivilant of two packs. They come in 8,6,4 and 0 mgs of nicotine, so you can't step yourself down, just like a patch. I think that with so much of the world going non-smoking, that this is a great way to stop smoking and still have the satisfaction you crave. It is just a safer way to smoke. No flames, no chemicals.
